New citizen gifts: a charm for the new country beside the first
New citizen gifts that name both countries: how to choose the places, gifts for new American citizens, dual citizenship gifts, example sets and timing for the ceremony.
Start your set
A citizenship ceremony is a day people remember, and the people closest to them usually want to mark it. A good new citizen gift names both places: the country someone started in and the one whose citizenship they have just taken. Neither replaces the other, and a gift that holds the two side by side says so.
This guide covers who a place gift suits, how to choose the places, gifts for new American citizens, dual citizenship gifts, which carrier to pick, example sets, and how to time it for the ceremony.
Who this gift suits
- A parent, partner or friend taking the oath at a citizenship ceremony.
- Someone confirming a second citizenship through a parent or grandparent.
- A colleague or neighbor whose ceremony you have been invited to.
- A family who became citizens together, each with a set of their own.
If they rarely wear jewelry and do not carry a bag they love, skip to the section on gifts that are not jewelry.
How to choose the places
The simplest citizenship gift is a pair: the first country and the new one. Some people would add a third, a country where they lived along the way or where a parent was born. If you are not sure which places they would choose, ask someone close to them rather than guessing; it is their story to tell. A set is built to grow, so a place can be added any time.
Gifts for new American citizens
For a new American citizen, the United States charm beside the first country is the natural pair. A gift small enough to hand over on the day works well, and every set arrives in a keepsake pouch. These open the set builder with the places, carrier and finish already chosen; change anything before you check out.

Dual citizenship gifts
A dual citizenship gift works the same way for any two countries. For someone confirming a second citizenship through family, the family country sits beside the one they grew up in. The same idea works for a new citizen anywhere: a new British citizen can carry the United Kingdom charm, or the England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland charm, beside the first.

Choose how they will carry it
Every charm is a small landscape tile, about 10 x 7 mm, with a printed enamel flag face and its own lobster clasp, so it moves between all three carriers.
- Necklace. An elongated cable chain, roughly 49 cm, with a secure lobster clasp. For someone who already wears a chain every day.
- Bracelet. The same elongated cable chain at roughly 22 cm, on the wrist where they will see it.
- Carry Clip. A smooth leather loop in black or cognac brown with 316L stainless steel hardware, a swivel snap hook on top and a split key ring below. It hangs the charms from a bag or keys, and suits someone who does not wear much jewelry.
Silver is the natural steel. Gold is real 18k gold plating over the steel. Match what they already wear most days; if you cannot tell, look at their watch or the rings they wear most.
Timing it for the ceremony
Orders are packed in 1 to 2 business days and ship within the US, and checkout shows the most accurate delivery estimate for the address. Once you know the ceremony date, order with time to spare rather than counting on a particular day. If the ceremony has already happened, the gift still marks it, whenever it arrives.
Thirty days to decide
If it isn't right, let us know within 30 days of delivery for an exchange or a full refund. Pieces need to come back unworn and in their original condition. The window counts from delivery, so open the box and check the places before you wrap it. A real person handles it, and it takes one email.
What it is made of
Each charm is 316L stainless steel with a printed enamel face. The necklace and bracelet chains are 304 stainless steel, and the Carry Clip pairs 316L hardware with smooth leather. Silver is the natural steel. Gold is real 18k plating over it. The steel is corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic and fine to get wet, and every piece is made for daily wear.
If jewelry is not the right gift
The same idea works without jewelry: name the places. Cook a dinner with one dish from each country. Frame a map with both marked. Write a card that says what each place has given them. A new citizen gift lands best when it is about their two specific countries, not about citizenship in general.
