Two homes: gifts for the place your family comes from
Gifts for someone who belongs to two places: choosing the places with care, the carrier, and example pairings.
Start your set
Some people belong to more than one place. A parent who moved countries as a young adult. A partner raised in one country and settled in another. A grandparent whose first home is an ocean away from the family they built. For them, a gift that names only one place tells half the story. This guide is about choosing a gift for someone with two homes: how to choose the places with care, how to choose the carrier, example pairings to start from, and how to time the order.
Who this gift suits
- A parent or grandparent who emigrated and still calls both places home.
- A partner or friend who grew up between countries, or who moved and stayed.
- Family members on the other side of the world, receiving something that holds both sides together.
- Anyone who would rather wear the places quietly than explain them.
Why two places, not one
A single flag can feel like it asks someone to pick a side. Two places side by side say what is actually true: both are home. Every charm carries its own lobster clasp and sits next to the others on the same chain or clip, so the places hang together as equals. A third place can join them later, for a child born somewhere new or a move that is still to come.
How to choose the places with care
- Let them name it. The places that matter are the ones the person names themselves. If you can, listen for how they talk about where they are from, and use their words, not a map.
- Think in generations. For a family gift, the places can be where the grandparents were born, where the parents grew up, and where the family lives now.
- Include the current home. The place someone lives today is part of who they are too, even if it is the newer one.
- Ask quietly if unsure. A sibling or partner can tell you whether a place is a comfort or a complicated subject.
Our charms show each place's flag as a printed enamel face on a small landscape tile, about 10 x 7 mm. There are 235 places to choose from, so most families can find every place they need.
A heritage gift or an ancestry gift
A two homes gift can also be a heritage gift. For the person in the family who has traced its story back to a particular country, or who carries a grandparent's place without having lived there, a charm for that country beside the place they live now makes an ancestry gift they can wear every day. It sits well alongside the family tree or the old photographs that started the search, and a set is built to grow, so another family place can join it later.
Choose how they will carry it
- Necklace. An elongated cable chain, roughly 49 cm, with a secure lobster clasp. Worn close, and easy to keep on every day.
- Bracelet. The same elongated cable chain at roughly 22 cm, on the wrist where the wearer sees it.
- Carry Clip. A smooth leather loop in black or cognac brown with 316L stainless steel hardware, for a handbag, a carry-on or keys. Often the right choice for a father or grandfather who does not wear jewelry.
Silver is the natural steel. Gold is real 18k gold plating over the steel. If you are buying for a parent, match the metal of the ring or watch they already wear.
Example pairings
Each link opens the set builder with the places, carrier and finish already chosen. Change any of them to the places your person would name.

A family set
Because the same places can go on any carrier, a family can share them. Build a necklace for a mother, a Carry Clip for a father and a bracelet for a sibling, each with the same pair of places. It is one of the simplest ways to give the same story to several people at once.
Timing and delivery
Orders are packed in 1 to 2 business days and ship within the US. Checkout shows the most accurate delivery estimate for the address you enter, so enter the recipient's address to see it before you order. If they live outside the US, send it to a US address and hand it over on the next visit. A keepsake pouch is included with every set.
Thirty days to decide
If it isn't right, or a gift doesn't land the way you hoped, let us know within 30 days of delivery for an exchange or a full refund. Pieces need to come back unworn and in their original condition. A real person handles it, and it takes one email.
What it is made of
Each charm is 316L stainless steel with a printed enamel face. The necklace and bracelet chains are 304 stainless steel, and the Carry Clip pairs 316L hardware with smooth leather. Silver is the natural steel. Gold is real 18k plating over it. The steel is corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic and fine to get wet, and every piece is made for daily wear.
